Hello! I'm Ash.

I love coffee, iced tea, lavender, anything lemon-flavored, the French language, growing things, flower meadows, thunderstorms, historical fiction, old maps and other quirky antiques, traveling, and my five crazy kids. When I was a little girl, I wanted to grow up and be an archaeologist. Instead, finding myself as a first-year double anthropology-history major on an archaeology dig in Portugal, I fell in love with the vibrant culture surrounding me--not the dusty relics of a bygone era. The photos taken then, with my dinosaur of a film camera, mean so much to me to this day. Memories fade much more quickly than you might realize and I think it was that moment, picking up my developed film, feeling both happy with my images and frustrated that they weren't exactly what I wanted to say, that I fell in love with photography. I no longer shoot professionally but beautiful images are always at the forefront of my mind.

To call me absolutely passionate about all things photo-related might be a bit of an understatement. I live and breathe my work. Photography has been a part of my life for so long now that it feels like an old friend. I've spent years studying and perfecting what I want my photos to convey. I am hoping that you will come along on this journey with me, as I work on both the artist and the mother that I want to be. Join me and let's create something wonderful. In recent years as we migrated to South Carolina from Kentucky and are next headed to Wisconsin, my family and I have really taken stock of our priorities, our health, and how we want to raise our children, and we are going to be sharing more here soon.
